I can't say enough great things about Jenn and Futurewise Consulting. My daughter was a senior, had great grades, test scores and extra curriculars. Just like every other parent of a high school student, I had heard about college entrance counselors, but I was a little doubtful as to the help they could offer my daughter at this point in her high school career. I was so wrong! I can't say enough about the benefits of having Jenn help my daughter negotiate the application process. Jenn was a great asset to my son in preparing for and applying to college over the last two years. We can’t say enough good things about our experience with Jenn Curtis at FutureWise Consulting. Jenn takes the time to really get to know the students and to understand their goals for college. Starting Sophomore year for our daughter who didn’t have an idea what she wanted to study, Jenn helped guide her into deciding what major she wanted to pursue, based on her passions and interests, and we saw the benefits of starting early with her. Jenn assisted in recommending schools that we may not otherwise have thought of, outside of the typical UCs, which was also key for both our high schoolers. Applying to college is a stressful time, and having Jenn keep them on track and start working on their list of schools and essays early, being ahead of all the deadlines, and applying Early Action where possible, certainly made the whole experience much less stressful, both for our students and for us as parents. Jenn’s input and guidance for the essays was excellent, and I’m sure was a key factor in the acceptances. Jenn was always available to answer questions whenever we had them along the way, and communicated with us really well through the entire process. We would recommend Jenn wholeheartedly to all HS parents and consider it a great investment.

I first met Jenn in 2013 for my daughter who was a junior in high school back then. Jenn quickly developed a great relationship with her. . .[and] she got into her desired university. So, when my son became a freshman in HS, there was no doubt in my mind that Jenn would be his college counselor as well. Of course my 2 kids have very different personalities, different interests, strengths and weaknesses, so initially I wasn’t sure how she would work with my son but with just one meeting, it became obvious that I made the right choice. Jenn is meticulous and patient, yet disciplined and has an incredible rapport with all the kids she works with. I particularly like her approach of having a one-on-one meeting without the parents to get a sense of their personalities. We, as parents, tend to have too much influence on career choices for our kids. Having that one-on-one session allows Jenn to truly get a sense of what their interests are and help guide them in the right direction. Both my kids could open up to her very easily. She made sure that their essays were original and that they took utmost efforts in bringing it to fruition. She would always keep me in the loop with an email after each meeting. As a working parent and an immigrant, it was difficult for me to keep up with deadlines and such all while not knowing the exact ins and outs of the U.S. college admissions process. Having Jenn help my kids put me at ease and made the college admissions process less stressful for them as well.

As a parent I have learned that a college applicant that does not have the benefit of an informed, knowledgeable, competent, and caring independent college counselor is disadvantaged in today’s college admission process. There is too much to know, too many mistakes that can be made, and too much at stake.
